Dating For Happiness Episode Summary:
If you’re clinging to the last vestiges of hope that happiness for you lies behind the curtain of a relationship, it’s time to let go and start working on yourself. Sarah and Adam discuss the unhealthiness of focusing on happiness as an end goal of a relationship instead of constantly working to be a happy, emotionally healthy single person. If you can’t be happy when you’re alone, you’re not going to be happy when you’re in a relationship, and it’s important to understand why. Listen to learn more about the best way to approach dating, life, and relationships.

Host Thoughts on Finding Happiness
Overall, everyone wants to be happy. If you struggle to find happiness within during the times when you’re alone, I suggest making a list of all things you want to accomplish and want to do in your life…and work on that first. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be in a relationship, but chasing a relationship and thinking that being with another person will make your life so much better and ultimately you’ll be so much happier, is the wrong approach to take.
Enjoy the moments where you can thrive and be happy by yourself and then eventually you’ll be ready to find someone who meets your standards.
People who can’t be happy as a single adult are never going to be able to be happy in a relationship. They will constantly sabotage, sandbag, and otherwise drag their partner down into the muck. Don’t ruin someone else’s life because you’re not capable of figuring out how to be a whole person!
